Now i normally try and steer clear of the prickly issue of politics for fear of a rebuttal that will confuse and outwit me, said comments normally coming from the 'Anglican socialist soviet' fraternity. On this occasion however i feel that i need to just release my annoyance with government in general. Firstly i will point out that I'm not getting into the issue of party politics because that is just a matter of opinion...unless its green party, vote green and you're wasting the slip of paper and harming the planet. I just don't see why every ones faith is supposed to be put into these people, sure they're elected into power, but on the leader of the gang is elected. It's their duty to then fill out the ranks, and who's to say what's going on behind the scenes.
I know i said i wouldn't get into party politics...but lately, i really hate the Labour party. They can't keep one dossier un-sexed or their hands on sensitive information, and nowadays they say that employers are to favour migrant workers over a Brit. Why? Why can't everyone have an equal crack at a job..only seems fair to me. Furthermore, with the economic downturn that this country is now facing, why oh why must we stick our noses into other peoples conflicts, its not affordable or necessary. Also, what will happen when every ones out of work, and the money that the government does have is being spent keeping said migrant workers in the country in houses and cabbage? The same could be said for criminals, why should a criminal be given second chances galore but a hard worker that's fallen on hard times gets the cold shoulder.
Well that's my rantings done for now, no science this time friends.

I dislike the government too, sometimes. Unfotunatly however, new saints are often as bad as old sinners. Politics has always been this way, what we need to decide is whether we need to 'weather the storm' or stop 're-enforcing failure'. I'm persaded of the first option. But I'm a true leftist. I think the left has its problems, but I know the right does to. Middle of the road politics has never inspired anyone to do anything.
Darling has made some serious mistakes, he should go. Brown has been unfortunate, he might have to go. Cameron however should not be given a look in.
Darling definately should go...as for brown....i can't help but feel a bit sorry for the old bugger, a lot of what's gone wrong he's inherited from Tony 'Cheshire Cat' Blair.
what do you base it (other than the fact that you are a leftist) that Cameron shouldn't be given a look in?....perhaps we could thaw Thatcher?
In my opinion, the tories lack any real policies except from the general idea of tax cuts and 'un-doing' the improvments that have been enacted over the last 10 years.
the simple fact is, the economy couldn't handle tax cuts, the only thing that is proping the economy up is the fact that we have things like the minimum wage, sure-start, working tax-crdit, job seekers, etc etc. Cutting back on these will harm the country.
i do fully agree with you mark, i don't think taxes should be cut either. What does need to be done however, is a serious rethink of how those tax pounds are spent. I think that these days people think that the goverment somehow owes them a house, and everything for free. Maybe if people were more self sufficient then we wouldn't be in the mess we are currently in.
Maybe we could collaborate on our own party commrade?
I would love people to be more self sufficient, but if the Thatcher-Major years taught us anything it would be that people aren't self sufficient.
No man is an island (apart from mt vennall)
we are social creatures, who trade, who exploit. If we leave people to fend for themselves, the poor will get poorer, the middle class will get poorer, a small oligarchy will get stupidly rich, then the economy will grind to a halt because we've killed off the middle class... because we've killed off 99% of the country's buying power.
what society needs to do is bring as many people as it can into the lower middle class which, this government has been very successful at doing (despite what people often think, you can check national statistics if you like). The problem is that, people in the middle class often think they've got their on their own and therefore want to vote tory.
what we need is to realise just how bad things were in the past.
and deal with the present.
