I Sentence You To One Year

What fantastic news that the corrupt politicians might face jail. Fingers crossed premier Brown is first into the goulag. There is also precious little on the horizon in terms of work, many applications sent and very few responses recieved :-(.

Update

Well i'm not a regular to blogging, i do tend to let a fair amount of time pass between blogs. The main reason for that is that i can't think of a huge amount to say because not a lot goes on day to day. Never the less, i fancy writing a little note so here goes.

Well the exam season is well and truly gathering momentum, my first exam isn't for a while yet. I have till the 13th (unlucky for some) to carry on revising before the first one and by the 21st it's all over. That will then hopefully be the end of my degree, which i'm really having mixed feelings about if i'm honest. I've loved my time at uni and wouldn't change any of it but at the same time i can't help but count down the time until i'm 'free' from it. I think it's mainly the fact that i'm looking forward to a brief gap of having nothing to do before i start plying my trade, i just hope i can find a job before my money runs out, which Commander Brown has tried very hard to stop me doing.

Swine flu is still cropping up here and there but i dont think it'll be that big really. Bird flu was supposed to cause a mass disaster and that fizzled out soon enough, this just seems to be the latest in a line of things the media are hyping up to sell papers. I'm not saying that it isn't dangerous if you have it, but chances are you won't.

Well now it's time for me to go once more to revise dear reader, thanks for browsing my trip into blogdom once more.

After the drought...

It has been a very long time indeed since i wrote a blog, so i shall try and update you of my progress of the last few weeks. I seem to have been having a spate of bad luck, or so it seems; first my laptop broke, then my car needed new tyres, brakes and apprently could do with a new steering rack and finally the washing machine broke.

Hopefully this recent run of bad luck is over and things will start picking up, i've certainly been having fun of late. Valentines weekend in Bath was really nice and Karl's 21st birthday was also quite a laugh. On the downside the exam period starts soon and graduate job opportunities are getting harder to come by, ah well even if im unemployed at least i'll have all my broken stuff

I Really Should Be Working...

Well i believe it's time for a little update into the world of me again dear reader. What's new? well in all seriousness time seems to have ticked on and nothing in my world has altered a great deal. The only thing that has changed is that my 'In' tray has got steadily bigger, i am currently working on this issue but it's a slow battle. At some point soon i really should start researching my final year project, it's not particularly taxing work but i just can't find it within myself to start.

One highlight of my blogging absence has been going to see Quantum of Solace. On the whole i thought it was a very good film, although i did feel like it could've done with a bit more depth. I shan't spoil it for anyone who hasn't yet seen it, but to me it felt like 'Casino Royale - Part Deux'

In the world of science there has been a bit of a breakthrough regarding motor neurone disease. An italian (i know it's losing validity already, but bear with me) study has shown that lithium tablets have an influence on the same metabolic pathways that the current treatments do, only much stronger. Although it is in no way a cure it could improve the quality of many lives, which is always nice....however, one thing that would concern me about taking an Italian medication would be if it could decide who it's fighting for or not.

As I'm sure you're all aware by now the British economy is about to enter recession, i shan't harp on about this, but i think that Labour may be onto something with how they plan to manage it. Normally I'm not their biggest fan but if it goes to plan i think it could make the whole situation a lot more bareable on the British public, i have my own plan to survive the credit crunch. All i need to do is become some form of wealthy business man and invite Lord Mandelson over for dinner.

P.S. 'Arriva Trains Bolivia service to Llandaf is currently running 15 hours behind schedule'

Back on the blog train

Well here i am again dear reader, sat in my living room....cannot sleep, cannot concentrate on anything meaningful. This year's chemistry isn't going too badly i must admit. Wilf is being a great help with electrochem (as Adam will verify) and other modules are ticking along nicely. I wish there was something interesting that i could blog about, and i was hoping that another breakthrough from CERN would serve, but no....my latest discovery has been from the world of adhesives.....

okay, i know there may be some confusion here, but bear with me. When sellotape is pulled apart from the reel at a certain speed the breakages release x-rays....real, bonefide ones at that. They can x-ray your finger with sellotape...which is quite a breakthrough considering the dentist normally has to leave the room when they examine a filling

Well, We're All Still Here

Greetings friends, today as many of you know was a bit make or break for the universe as we know it. As a lot of the sensationalist media have been reporting that the CERN project could indeed end the world...well as per usual they were as wrong as Nostradamus. Not to say that there isn't a risk involved, there is a chance a black hole could be formed...a 1 in 50 million chance, and I'm willing to take those odds that it won't happen, but i digress. The first small scale test was a complete success and watching CNN with baited breath i saw what all the fuss was about, a split second flash of light. This may not seem like much, but it proves the machine works. After 14 years in development and 10 million dollars in funding, it actually works! I for one cannot wait for the passing months as more and more work takes place in the Geneva cellar...i hear Joseph Fritzl was interested in this property. This does throw up an important question for me..if this research does bear the fruit that it is believed too, what will happen to religion? will doctrines have to be re-written, etc? I'd be interested to get your Anglican thoughts on this Mark.

In other news, the other day i took a brave step...even tho i cannot fully afford it, i stopped my penny pinching and bought the camera I've been wanting for ages. Money well spent, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! hurrah for me, and hurrah for Canon.

Take a moment if you will to look at some of my snaps
